- 36 Club crackers or any buttery crackers
- ½ lb regular sliced bacon avoid thick cut
- 1/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper optional or black pepper
Preheat oven to 325°F.
Line a baking sheet with parchment or foil and place a wire rack on top; spray the rack with nonstick cooking spray.
Arrange crackers in a single layer on the wire rack.
Cut bacon into thirds or fourths and place one piece on each cracker.
Mix brown sugar and cayenne pepper, then sprinkle about one teaspoon of the mixture over each bacon piece.
Bake for 22 minutes or until bacon is crisp and browned, taking care not to over-brown the crackers.
Loosen crackers from the rack before cooling completely and allowing them to harden before serving.
- Use regular sliced bacon, not thick cut, for best results.
- Carefully monitor baking time to avoid overly browned crackers.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container to maintain crispness.
- Substitute cayenne with black pepper for a milder spice.
