Equipment

  • 1 9x13 inch casserole dish greased
  • 1 oven preheated to 375°F

Ingredients
  

  • 2 lbs frozen cheddar cheese pierogies
  • 1 15- ounce jar Alfredo sauce
  • 8 pieces crispy cooked bacon chopped
  • 2 green onions finely chopped
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Kosher salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh parsley

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F and grease a 9x13-inch casserole dish.
  • Layer half of the frozen pierogies in the casserole dish.
  • Spoon half of the Alfredo sauce evenly over the pierogies.
  • Sprinkle half of the chopped bacon, green onions, and shredded cheeses over the sauce.
  • Add the remaining pierogies in a second layer on top.
  • Spoon the remaining Alfredo sauce over this layer and sprinkle the rest of the bacon, green onions, and cheeses.
  • Season with kosher salt and black pepper to taste.
  • Cover the casserole with foil and bake for 15 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 20 to 25 minutes until cheese is melted and casserole is bubbly.
  • Garnish with fresh chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Grease the casserole dish for easier cleaning.
  • No need to pre-boil pierogies; they cook well in the casserole.
  • Serve with roasted broccoli or sautéed asparagus for balance.
