Equipment

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground hamburger cooked and drained
  • 1 block cream cheese softened
  • 10 oz can diced tomatoes drained (such as Rotel)
  • 15 oz can chili starter such as Bush's Chili Magic
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 2 tsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1-2 tsp hot sauce such as Louisiana
  • 1/2 medium white onion diced
  • 1.5 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 5 strips bacon cooked crispy and chopped
  • 2 green onions diced (green and white parts)
  • Frito's Scoops for serving

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
  • In a large bowl, combine softened cream cheese, cooked hamburger, diced tomatoes, chili starter, 1 cup cheddar cheese, garlic powder, chili powder, brown sugar, paprika, cumin, hot sauce, and diced white onion. Mix until smooth and taste to adjust seasonings.
  • Grease a 10-inch oven-safe skillet or cast iron pan. Spread the dip mixture evenly in the skillet and top with 1.5 cups shredded cheddar cheese.
  • Bake for 8 to 10 minutes until the cheese is melted.
  • Remove from oven, sprinkle with chopped crispy bacon, then return to oven and bake an additional 3 to 4 minutes until bubbly around the edges.
  • Remove from oven, top with diced green onions, and serve warm with Frito's Scoops.

Notes

  • For extra texture, top with crushed Chili Cheese flavored Frito's after baking.
  • Keeps well refrigerated for 3 days and reheats beautifully.
  • Use a cast iron skillet for even heating and serving presentation.
