Equipment

  • 1 non-stick skillet medium heat

Ingredients

  • 4 Hawaiian rolls
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • Optional: sliced tomatoes or crispy bacon

Instructions

  • Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half without cutting all the way through.
  • Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and spread butter on the insides of each roll.
  • Place the bottom halves of the rolls on the skillet and add shredded cheese generously.
  • Press down gently with the top halves of the rolls.
  • Grill until golden brown, about 3 to 4 minutes per side, flipping carefully to avoid spilling cheese.
  • Remove from heat once both sides are crispy and cheese is melted, then slice and serve hot.

Notes

  • Try adding bacon or tomatoes for extra flavor.
  • Use a low heat to avoid burning the rolls.
  • Leftovers can be reheated in a skillet to maintain crispiness.
